The early days of the pandemic were characterized by a lot of very pessimistic predictions for real estate.

It’s pleasing to reflect, however, that the homes market has fared a great deal better than many expected.

In Prescott last month, for example, there were 71 closings. And while it is fair to say this isn’t as high a figure as we would normally expect at this time, its nonetheless quite remarkable how many properties are still being sold amid all the restrictions that have been a part of our lives for a few months now.

Here at the Hyland Schneider Team we completed no less than 49 sales in May. We have been very busy throughout the current situation and expect things to improve even further as restrictions are progressively lifted.

During the pandemic we have launched our Virtual Home Buying Program, which enables transactions to take place in complete safety, using the latest technology to show homes, electronic signing of documents, plus a wide range of other measures that enable buyers to search and identify the perfect home and progress to completion of purchase without the need to leave their armchairs.

This initiative is a fine example of how the real estate industry has rapidly adapted to embrace technology to overcome what would have been insurmountable issues, just a few years ago.

The necessary technology has been available for a while now, but what’s really impressive is how quickly it has been deployed to make home buying happen even in the most challenging of circumstances.

We are totally committed to this approach and have also relaunched this website using a new platform that is geared to helping sellers to more easily engage with qualified potential buyers. It is already proving to be extremely effective, as reflected in our notable sales performance last month.

With mortgage rates hovering at or below historic lows, many buyers are recognizing that purchasing a home right now may just be the opportunity of a lifetime. And when they discover that it can all be achieved without any risk to their health then any reluctance to act now, instead of playing a waiting game, evaporates very fast.

Understandably, some sellers have retreated from the market or have decided to put home selling plans on hold. If that sounds like you, our strong message is that homes are still selling in significant numbers and, thanks to initiatives like our Virtual Home Buying Program, the whole process can be conducted entirely safely.
